Shia leader from Kashmir supports Tulsi Gabbard's nomination, says it will help normalize ties between India and Pakistan
Prominent Shia preacher Imran Reza Ansari supports Tulsi Gabbard's appointment as US Director of National Intelligence, seeing it as a positive step towards improving India-Pakistan relations. Ansari condemns prejudice against her Hindu faith and ...

Ansari, who heads the J&K Shia Association, said that her appointment will provide an opportunity for progress in the normalization of ties between the two nuclear powers of India and Pakistan.
“With Tulsi Gabbard’s appointment the world could see a departure from unsuccessful US policy…it is heartening to see muslim organizations coming to the defence of hindu organizations that support Tulsi,” said Ansari.
The People’s Conference leader said that the 'dying legacy media' has unfortunately targeted Tulsi’s personal Hindu faith and this prejudice against her has been called out by Hindu, Muslim and Christian organizations as well.
“As Indian Muslim, one is acutely aware of the toxic and divisive legacy of British colonialism in fomenting intolerance in the multi faith mosaic of south Asia and beyond,” said Ansari, adding, “for too long we have suffered from the consequence of extremism that was fostered by British colonialism and its legacy of Neoconservatives who bitterly oppose Tulsi’s appointment.”
Ansari further said that Tulsi’s appointment opens up an opportunity for progress in the normalisation of ties between two nuclear powers in south Asia.
