Sherry Rehman on terrorists' hit list

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan's Information and Broadcasting Minister Sherry Rehman, a close aide of slain former premier Benazir Bhutto, is a "prime target" for terrorists and has been advised to restrict her movements in public.
Interior Minister Rehman Malik had himself conveyed information of the threat to Sherry Rehman to ensure her safety, a senior information ministry official said on condition of anonymity.
The interior ministry advised Rehman, a leader of the ruling Pakistan People's Party, to restrict her movements as she is on the hit list of a suicide bomber.
Rehman was part of Bhutto's entourage when the former premier was assassinated by a suicide attacker after addressing an election rally in the garrison city of Rawalpindi in December last year.
The Pakistan government put all four provinces in a state of high alert following a suicide bombing in Islamabad on Sunday after the conclusion of rally marking the first anniversary of the storming of the Lal Masjid and a series of low-intensity blasts in Karachi on Monday.
