Speaking to PTI, Sinha said, “Mamata Banerjee stood by me in my difficult time. I will not leave Mamata Banerjee in her difficult time.”
The remarks came after the actor-turned-politician posted a message on X congratulating Modi on his 12-year tenure at the Centre.
“In true sportsman spirit, wishing our friend & guide of society/nation hon’ble PM Narendra Modi best wishes on completing 12yrs in office, perhaps the longest tenure, ever. Wish you a long, healthy & prosperous life ahead. Jai Hind!” Sinha wrote on the social media platform.

Meanwhile, another senior TMC leader, Kalyan Banerjee, publicly aired differences within the party over the legal handling of a CID case involving Abhishek Banerjee.
“Choose between me and Abhishek Banerjee,” the Trinamool Congress MP and senior advocate said he told Mamata Banerjee after withdrawing from a Calcutta High Court case involving the party’s national general secretary and MP Abhishek Banerjee.
