NEW DELHI: Congress MP Shashi Tharoor, who recently earned the ire of his party leaders in Kerala and the kudos of the Left government by penning an article praising the advancement of the startup sector in the state and who also made known his desire for a more active role within the party, has now come out with a word of praise for the revival of the long-stalled Indo-UK FTA talks.

"Good to exchange words with Jonathan Reynolds, Britain's Secretary of State for Business and Trade, in the company of his Indian counterpart, Commerce & Industry Minister @Piyush Goyal. The long-stalled FTA negotiations have been revived, which is most welcome," Tharoor posted on social media with a photo of him with Reynolds and Goyal. Tharoor had recently welcomed the engagement between the PM and President Trump in Washington.

Tharoor also welcomed Wayanad MP Priyanka Gandhi's demand for converting the central assistance for Wayanad landslide relief from a loan to a grant.
