Shashi Tharoor tells Congress leadership he is being ‘framed’ in Sunanda case
Tharoor had earlier written a letter to police commissnor BS Bassi complaining that his domestic helpwas being coerced by police to implicate him.

Tharoor met senior party functionaries this week to explain his side of the story amid indications that the Delhi Police is set to question him in the case.
It is learnt that the diplomat-turned politician has conveyed to the leadership that he is a victim of a political frame-up through the police investigations.
Tharoor had earlier written a letter to Delhi police commissnor BS Bassi complaining that his domestic help, Narayan, was being coerced by police to implicate him.
However, despite Tharoor's plea of innocence, Congress leadership appears to have decided to wait for the police probe before speaking up on the issue.
Congress spokespersons have made statements seeking an impartial probe and underlining that Tharoor is not an accused. But the party has been guarded about making a drastic accusation like a "political frame-up" or "vendetta". It has instead focused on individuals like Subramanian Swamy who has been accusing Tharoor of not being ignorant about what happened to Pushkar.
The case took a new turn after Delhi Police last week made a sensational revelation that Pushkar was murdered and registered an FIR against unknown persons, after it received her final medical report from AIIMS which suggested poisoning as the cause of death.
