Shashi Tharoor meets Rahul Gandhi after backlash over LDF, Modi-Trump praise

Senior Congress leader Shashi Tharoor met with Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi on Tuesday, following opposition from Kerala Congress leaders over his praise for the state's startup initiatives in a recent article. These leaders felt Tharoor's remarks indirectly endorsed the Left government of Kerala.

Both Tharoor and AICC made no public comments after the meeting, but it's believed that Tharoor clarified his article's context, including his remarks on the Trump-Modi meeting. Tharoor explained that the meeting was part of a long-standing request to discuss various issues. AICC General Secretary KC Venugopal, while commenting on the meeting, stated that "everything is cool" and labeled the issue a "closed chapter."

Tharoor had earlier defended his article, stating it was based on data from a think tank and not an endorsement of the LDF government. He added that he was open to changing his perspective if the data cited was proven wrong.
