Shashi Tharoor granted anticipatory bail in Sunanda Pushkar death case

In his arguments before the court, Tharoor said that the SIT had categorically stated that it has completed its probe​ and that his custody was not required.

Sunanda Pushkar death case: Shashi Tharoor granted anticipatory bail
In what comes as a relief for Congress leader Shashi Tharoor, a court has granted anticipatory bail to him in a case related to the death of his wife Sunanada Pushkar.

Tharoor has been asked to furnish a bail bond of Rs one lakh.

The court had reserved its order on Wednesday. The Delhi Police had opposed his bail plea fearing that he might flee the country,


In his arguments before the court, Tharoor said that the SIT had categorically stated that it has completed its probe and that his custody was not required.

Tharoor was summoned by the court and asked to appear before it on July 7. It had observed that there were sufficient grounds to proceed against him.

Sunanda Pushkar was found dead in a Delhi luxury hotel on January 17, 2014.
