Sharat Chander appointed information officer in Prime Minister's Office

Sharat Chander of the Indian Information Service has been appointed as Information Officer in Prime Minister's Office (PMO).

NEW DELHI: Sharat Chander of the Indian Information Service (IIS) has been appointed as Information Officer in Prime Minister's Office ( PMO).

Chander, a 1999 batch IIS officer, has been appointed on the personal staff of Prime Minister, according to an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT).

"He may kindly be relieved of his duties immediately with instructions to take up his new assignment in the PMO," it said.

Chander is currently working in Press Information Bureau (PIB) handling media affairs of the PMO.
