Sharad Yadav silent on Lalu's sentence after hailing initial verdict
PATNA: JD(U) President Sharad Yadav today declined to comment anything on the five year's sentence of RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav in the fodder scam case.

"No comment," he said today when reporters sought his reaction on the issue.

However, the JD(U) chief had said that one had to pay for his wrongdoings after Prasad was convicted in the fodder scam, three days ago.

"If you do wrong you will definitely be punished... Law is equal for everybody," Yadav had told reporters at Madhepura, his Lok Sabha constituency in Bihar three days ago.

Top JD(U) leader and Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, however, had refused to comment Prasad's conviction saying, "I do not wish to make any comment on a court order."

A CBI court in Ranchi yesterday sentenced Prasad to five years' rigorous imprisonment in a fodder scam case. Forty four others were also sentenced by the court in the case but the degree of punishment varied.
