Sharad Yadav gives Rs 1,05,000 to Nitish Kumar for the Green Bihar Campaign

Nitish had also asked ministers, MPs, MLAs and MLCs belonging to the party to plant a tree each in their respective constituencies.

PATNA: Responding to Chief Minister Nitish Kumar's appeal to JD(U) ministers, MPs and legislators to contribute their one month's salary for the Green Bihar Campaign, party national president Sharad Yadav today gave a cheque of Rs 1,05,000 to him for the purpose.

Yadav, accompanied by party Rajya Sabha MP R C P Singh and spokesman Sanjay Singh drove to Kumar's residence and handed over the cheque.

He also lauded the efforts made by Kumar for increasing the green cover in Bihar and the two leaders took stock of the political situation in the country.

As part of the campaign Kumar had laid thrust on enrolling more than 50 lakh new members into JD(U) in Bihar and aspirants would have to plant a tree each in their respective areas.

He had also asked ministers, MPs, MLAs and MLCs belonging to the party to plant a tree each in their respective constituencies.
