JDU crisis: Nitish readies action, Sharad Yadav camp approaches Election Commission
The Sharad Yadav faction has also staked claims over the JD(U)'s poll symbol (arrow) and the offices allotted to the party.

The Yadav camp has filed a petition before the Election Commission staking claim for the patent of the party and its symbol. Yadav camp has called a meeting of “JDU national executive” in Delhi as their counter-move.
A day after dissident JDU leader Sharad Yadav told ETthat he will attend the Lalu ’s rally in Patna, Nitish Kumar supporter and party general secretary K C Tyagi wrote to Yadav stating that the move could amount to him “voluntarily giving up” his association with the party.
This is seen as an indication of the Nitish camp planning more actions against Yadav, including removal from the party and efforts to unseat him from Rajya Sabha under Clause 2(A) of the 10th Schedule of People’s Representation Act.
Around the same time, the Yadav camp, represented by the legal team of senior lawyer Kapil Sibal, petitioned EC, saying they are the original founders of the party and therefore have calmed patent of the party and symbol. “It is Sharad ji and his supporters who formed the original JDUand we have supporters and party officers across the States”, Arun Srivastav of Yadav group said.
