Sharad Pawar accepts Sangma's resignation from NCP

NCP chief Sharad Pawar on Wednesday accepted the resignation of party's founder member and Presidential hopeful P A Sangma from the organisation.

NEW DELHI: NCP chief Sharad Pawar on Wednesday accepted the resignation of party's founder member and Presidential hopeful P A Sangma from the organisation.

"I have accepted P A Sangma's resignation with immediate effect," Pawar said here.

He said that the party will inform the Speaker of Meghalaya Assembly about Sangma's resignation from the NCP. Sangma is an MLA in the Meghalaya Assembly.

Sangma, a former Lok Sabha Speaker, has received support from AIADMK and BJD in his Presidential bid.
