Shakeel Ahmad's 'Muslim' terrorists remark stokes controversy. BJP reacts strongly
NEW DELHI: After Mani Shankar Aiyar’s controversial comment on ISIS attack in Paris, it was the turn of AICC general secretary Shakeel Ahmad to kick up another storm with a controversial tweet on underworld don Chhota Rajan and Ulfa leader Anup Chetia.

“Thankfully, Chhota Rajan & Anup Chetia are not Muslims. Had they been Muslims, Modi govt would have a different narrative altogether,” Ahmad said in a tweet, provoking the BJP to launch an attack on Ahmed and the Congress.

BJP spokesperson Sambit Patra said, “Shakeel Ahmad, who is a tall leader of Congress, has made a very appalling comment. Congress has divided the society for petty political gains on the lines of Hindus and Muslims. Today they are trying to differentiate between even terrorists in the name of religion.

They are discriminating between Hindu and Muslim terrorists. What kind of a statement by Ahmad is this.” Soon Ahmad appeared with a clarification, saying he was simply trying to expose the “double standards and double speak” of the BJP and Modi government on the issue of terror.
