MUMBAI: Actor Shah Rukh Khan met Maharashtra Navnirman Sena Chief Raj Thackeray on Sunday evening. The meeting comes ahead of the release of Khan’s new movie, ‘Raees’.

The film, which is expected to be in released next month, has Pakistani actress Mahira Khan featuring in it. The MNS chief has been maintaining that his party would oppose movies in which Pakistani actors are involved.

Shah Rukh Khan apparently held the meeting with Thackeray after there were talks that Mahira Khan would be coming to India for promoting the film. But the actor “clarified” to Thackeray that there was no such move.

While the actor did not speak to the media after the meeting at Thackeray’s residence Krishnakunj in Dadar, the MNS chief told reporters that “Mahira Khan will not be coming for the promotion of the film.”

Until the India-Pak relations become peaceful, he said, “We will not allow Pak actors in Indian films.”

The MNS had earlier opposed the release of Karan Johar’s movie, ‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil’, due to the presence of a Pakistani actor.

It was allowed to be screened only after the producers agreed to donate Rs 5 crore to the Indian Army Welfare Fund, not to take any more Pakistani artistes in films and run a scroll saying they condemned the terror attack in Uri.
