NEW DELHI: In a major fillip to Delhi's efforts in stemming pollution, the Supreme Court has banned the registration of diesel SUVs and cars above 2000cc in the national capital till March 31. Apart from that, the top court raised by 100 per cent the green cess being levied on commercial vehicles entering Delhi.

Here are 7 key decisions taken by the Supreme Court today to check Delhi's pollution:

1) Bans registration of diesel-run SUVs and cars with engines beyond 2000 cc in Delhi and NCR till March 31

2) Raises by 100 per cent the Green cess being levied on commercial vehicles entering Delhi

3) Commercial vehicles, which are not Delhi bound, will not be allowed to enter national capital through entry points NH-8 and NH-1

4) Commercial vehicles registered before 2005 cannot enter Delhi

5) Only CNG-run taxis will be allowed to ply in Delhi and NCR

6) Light commercial vehicles with two axles will have to pay Rs 1,400 for entering Delhi

7) Commercial vehicles with three and four axles will have to pay Rs 2,600 for entering Delhi
