Congress failed to open its account despite contesting 40 seats. In 2010, Congress had won three seats in alliance with BPF.

Setback for BJP in Assam as Bodoland Peoples Front sweeps polls
GUWAHATI: BJP’s victory run in Assam faced a bump in Bodoland with the ruling Bodoland Peoples Front ( BPF) winning 20 of the 40 seats in the Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC) elections. Newly floated People's Coordination for Democratic Rights (PCDR) won seven seats while the perfume baron Badruddin Ajmal led All India United Democratic Front (AIUDF) increased its presence by winning four seats. AIUDF has fielded candidate in 8 seats.

Congress failed to open its account despite contesting 40 seats. In 2010, Congress had won three seats in alliance with BPF. BJP opened their accounts in the Council with one seat. Following BJPs spectacular success in the last years LS polls where it won seven seats out of the 14 seats and it impressive show in the recent civic polls, the party was betting big on the council polls and contested all 40 seats.
