Set up special court to fast track terror cases: MS Bitta
A special court to deal with terror related cases in time bound manner should be set up to ensure that there is no political or bureaucratic interferences or delays.
He also said a Commission answerable directly to the President should also be set up to look into grievances of the families of soldiers killed in North-East, Kashmir or from any disturbed area.
"I demand set up a special court that would decide and fast track terror related cases in time bound manner, so that there is no political or bureaucratic interferences or delays in terror investigation and trials," Bitta told reporters after he met President Pratibha Patil along with victims of recent Delhi serial blasts.
Bittal claimed that he told the President about the problems faced by families of terror victims including rehabilitation issues and delay in recieving compensation.
"We have lost faith in the government. Politicians just play politics over terror issues," he said.
He also took exception to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh calling his Pakistani counterpart Yusuf Raza Gilani "a man of peace".
"How can Gilani be an ambassador of peace, when his country has orchestrated terror acts like Parliment attack, 26/11 mumabi terror or the Kargil war. The families of the terror victims are very grieved at the statement. The PM should withdraw the statement," he said.
They also submitted a memorandum seeking constitution of a separate integral ministry to look into terror related problems faced by victim and their families and for speedy trial of the terror cases.
