Set up anti-terror commission, demands MS Bitta
JAUNPUR: An anti-terror commission should be constituted so that terror cases are tried within six months, Chairman of All-India Anti-Terrorist Front (AIATF) M S Bitta demanded today.

"An anti-terror commission should be set up so that trial in all such cases is concluded within six months and the culprits are brought to book as soon as possible," Bitta said while addressing a function at Baraipar town in Machlishahr tehsil here.

Lashing out at Pakistan, he said the neighbouring country has become a "safe haven for terrorists" and the UN should now declare it a "terrorist state".

Bitta said youths have a key role in fighting terrorism.

He also praised the security personnel who sacrificed their lives during 26/11 strikes in Mumbai and the Parliament attack.

Replying to queries, he said Pakistan has been given several opportunities to take corrective action on its policy towards terrorism but it has not changed.

Pakistan has been given evidence of Mumbai and Parliament attacks and has even faced criticism from US President Barack Obama on the issue, he said.

He said all political parties should develop consensus on ways to take on terrorism.

Bitta also hit out at the President of All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen Asaduddin Owaisi, saying his ideology was "anti-India".

"This should be opposed by all organisations," he said.

Bitta felicitated five winners of a marathon during the function.
