Serampore to get Rs 112 crore logistics hub and truck terminal
The hub would be hosuing storage and warehousing facilities, long-axle truck parking and allied amenities, auto workshops, post offices along with police check posts.

Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee had announced the project at the Bengal Global Business Summit last year and a memorandum of understanding was signed between the representatives of the CGTA and the state transport. Accordingly, the CGTA gave a detailed project report to the transport department in June last year.
The hub would be hosuing storage and warehousing facilities, long-axle truck parking and allied amenities, auto workshops, administrative buildings, fire stations, post offices along with police check posts. Weigh bridge and truck parking areas, skill development centres, fuel stations, commercial complexes, common driver dormitory and administrative office complex tower will also be a part of it.
The idea of the hub is to have heavy trucks park at the facility while smaller ones are used to carry goods to the wholesale market.
