Meanwhile, the Madras High Court ordered notice to the Enforcement Directorate on a revision petition filed by Senthil Balaji, challenging an order of the local court dismissing his petition seeking deferring the trial in the money laundering case.
A division bench comprising Justices M S Ramesh and Sunder Mohan posted to April 25, further hearing of the petition, after hearing arguments from senior counsel Mukul Rahotgi and S Prabakaran, appearing for Balaji.
Balaji was arrested on June 14, 2023 by the ED in connection with a money laundering case linked to a cash-for-jobs scam when he was the Transport Minister during an earlier AIADMK regime.
