Sensing trouble, Narendra Modi government defers Land Bill in Rajya Sabha
Government has decided to defer its plans of bringing The Right to Fair Compensation and Transparency in Land Acquisition, Rehabilitation and Resettlement Bill.

The principal opposition has alleged this is a case of snooping on their leader. Other opposition parties like TMC plan to take on the government on the charge that their phones are being tapped. “The charge of snooping on Gandhi is absurd and without any substance. Why will somebody spying on him go to his house with a pro forma and ask questions openly.
Since Congress has no issue to raise, it is making a non-issue into an issue,” MoS for Parliamentary Affairs Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi told ET. The Opposition plans to give notice for suspension of scheduled business to discuss these issues. Sensing disruptions and adjournments, the government has decided to defer its plans of bringing The Right to Fair Compensation and Transparency in Land Acquisition, Rehabilitation and Resettlement (Amendment) Bill. “Since the Rajya Sabha is not likely to function normally on Monday, the decision to bring the Land Bill for discussion and passage has been deferred,” a Union minister said.
