Senior leaders are quitting family-run Congress: BJP chief JP Nadda
"People who have been members of the Congress party for more than 40 years are leaving the party. These people have now realized that the Congress party is now just a family gathering and is no longer on a national or state level," Nadda said.

“Congress was the oldest party, the biggest party, why did it shrink this way, it is only because it did not and could not amalgamate the regional aspiration into the larger national aspirations," Nadda said.
Nadda while addressing the party workers in Guwahati said that senior leaders of the Congress party with decades of association with the grand old party are leaving.
"People who have been members of the Congress party for more than 40 years are leaving the party. These people have now realized that the Congress party is now just a family gathering and is no longer on a national or state level," Nadda said.
People who stayed for 50 to 20 years with congress have left because they understood that congress is no more a national or even a regional party but it is now a party of a family, a party of brother and sister, he added.
“With time the regional parties have turned into family parties, it’s all about political dynasties. The BJP is stable because it does not believe in political dynasties. Assam had given the country a congress PM for 10 years, how many times he came here and see how many times Prime minister Nadendra Modi ji had come”.
He added, “Even regional parties like Shiv Sena, RJD, Peoples Democratic party(PDP), National Conference are family centric parties.”
