Senior Congress leader Sudip Roy Barman injured second time in an alleged attack

In little less than two-month time senior Congress leader and MLA Sudip Roy Barman has been again injured in an alleged attack. Several other Congress leaders and supporters have also sustained injuries along with Roy Barman and the incident took place between Ranirbazar and Khayerpur in the outskirts of Agartala.

Roy Barman who sustained head injuries.“We were returning from a scheduled political programme ‘Bharat Joro Padyatra’ between Ranirbazar to Khayerpur but police did not allow it to organize it and were arrested,” Congress leader Radhyasyam Saha said.

Former minister Sudip Roy Barman was attacked at Ujan Abhoynagar in Tripura recently. Barman had quit the BJP earlier this year to join Congress. By-elections to the four assembly seats in Tripura was held on June 23 and Barman won from Agartala seat.
