He was an 8-time MLA & represented the Nilambur constituency in Malappuram district.

Former Kerala minister and senior Congress leader Aryadan Muhammed passed away on Sunday morning. He was undergoing treatment in a private hospital in Kozhikode.

He was 87.

He was an 8-time MLA and represented the Nilambur constituency in Malappuram district.


From January 1980 to October 1981, he was Minister for Labour and Forests in the Ministry of E. K. Nayanar. From April 1995 to May 1996, he was Minister for Labour and Tourism in the Ministry of A. K. Antony. He served as former Minister for Electricity and Transport in the Oommen Chandy Ministry.

"The body will be taken to Nilambur Sunday where the public can pay respects. He was admitted in the ICU for the past one week," his son Aryadan Shoukath reporters.

The funeral will be held on Monday at 9 AM, he said.
