Sena (Uddhav) reaches out to ex-corporators

"We fought alone in the last Mumbai civic elections, yet we came to power. We will come to power again. Do not fall a prey to the inducements given by the BJP and Eknath Shinde," said Uddhav Thackeray at a meeting with corporators.

Faced with an existential crisis and desertions, Sena (UBT) chief Uddhav Thackeray on Tuesday held a meeting of his party corporators (ex) in the Mumbai Municipal Corporation and asked them not to fall a prey to the "BJP-Shinde machinations" and join the Shinde camp.

"We fought alone in the last Mumbai civic elections, yet we came to power. We will come to power again. Do not fall a prey to the inducements given by the BJP and Eknath Shinde," said Uddhav Thackeray at a meeting with corporators.

The ex-corporators complained how they were not getting enough funds for development of their constituencies from the Mumbai civic body. They claimed that more funds were being given to wards run by BJP and Shinde group corporators.

Uddhav Thackeray lamented that the Mumbai civic administration was behaving in a partisan manner and that the party would take out a massive morcha on July 1 to the civic headquarters to protest against the corruption in the civic body.
