MUMBAI: Security has been beefed up at the airports of the city and Taj Hotel in South Mumbai in view of a threat call to blow up these venues, police said today.

Authorities at the airport as well as at the Taj received a call around midnight from an unknown number threatening to blow up these places on Tuesday, following which they informed the police, said DCP (Detection-1) Mohan Dahikar.

Both the threat calls were made in quick succession, said Dahikar.

The Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) is also keeping a tab on such calls, police added.

Meanwhile, Taj Hotels said it was a hoax bomb threat.
