Security tightened in Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, New Delhi
Security has been tightened in Tamil Nadu and Karnataka and Delhi with special vigil on places where people conglomerate in view of the blasts in Hyderabad on Sunday.
"Bus stands, airports, railway stations and other places where people move in large numbers will be kept under check and security has also been beefed up at these places," Tamil Nadu Director General of Police D Mukherjee said tonight.
Intense checking of vehicles and lodges were also underway as a precautionary measure, he added.
Security was stepped up in Karnataka, particularly in the districts bordering Andhra Pradesh.
"Our officers have been asked to gear up the police force and put in place all required measures to check any untoward incident in the state," Karnataka ADGP (Law and Order) Shankar M Bidari said.
Security has been beefed up in New Delhi too. "A general alert was sounded. Rank and file have been asked to be more vigilant," police sources said. Personnel have been asked "vigorously" to conduct routine checks. "There is nothing to panic," the sources added.
