Second rejig in a week: Delhi government moves seven babus
NEW DELHI: In yet another reshuffle, the Arvind Kejriwal government has moved seven senior Delhi government officials from their current portfolios. The move comes barely a week after the first major reshuffle in which Delhi Jal Board's CEO was removed along with the CM's principal secretary, M M Kutty.

In the latest reshuffle, S S Yadav, who was principal secretary-cum-commissioner (food and supply) has been replaced by Arun Goyal, who was principal secretary (urban development). During Congress rule, Yadav was responsible for implementing the food security scheme-the UPA government's flagship programme.

Goyal will also take charge as CMD, Delhi State Civil Supplies Corporation Limited, which earlier held by Yadav. S S Yadav has been posted as secretary (urban development). He has also been relieved of his additional charges of secretary (administrative reforms) and secretary (art, culture and language) which will be held by PWD secretary, Arun Baroka. Yadav's other portfolio, secretary (information and publicity), will be taken over by Sanjiv Kumar, who is the secretary (environment and forests) at present.

As per the order, Delhi Tourism and Transportation Development Corporation MD, Gyanesh Bharti, has been repatriated and posted as commissioner (transport), the additional charge earlier held by Arvind Ray. Ray retains his primary charge of secretary (development). North Delhi Municipal Corporation's deputy commissioner, Padmini Singla, has also been repatriated and posted as director (education). Instead, Niharika Rai, who was additional secretary (food and supply), will be NDMC's deputy commissioner on deputation.
