Umpires inspected the ground at 1230hrs, three hours after the scheduled start of the day's play, and ruled out play for the day due to wet outfield conditions.

On the first day, only two hours play was possible due to wet outfield and bad light. Australia were 82 for three at stumps with Marcus North and George Balley unbeaten on 14 and nine respectively.

The third day play on Thursday is also likely too be delayed by inclement weather with more rains forecast in the next 24 hours in the city.
