NEW DELHI: With Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal launching scathing attack against Centre on second day over CBI raids on his principal secretary Rajendra Kumar, the agency clarified that searches at 14 locations on Tuesday were conducted in the presence of independent witnesses, as per procedure laid down by law.

The search cum seizure memo containing details of all seized items will be produced before the competent court, said a CBI spokesperson. The agency also began questioning of Kumar for the second consecutive day at its headquarters.

CBI sources also said that during the raids on Tuesday they also unearthed bank balances of approx Rs 28 lacs of Kumar. The agency has earlier claimed that they have seized cash Rs 2.4 lakhs and papers of 3 immovable properties.

During the raids the agency also found fixed deposits worth approx Rs 1.66 crores at premises of co-accused A K Duggal former MD, ICSIL. Agency officials also said that 14 bottles of liquor were also found which were handed over to excise department which registered a separate case against Kumar.
