Scuffle breaks out between IAS officer and minister Rajesh Munat

RAIPUR: A scuffle broke out between Housing and Environment Minister Rajesh Munat, who is the BJP candidate from Raipur City West seat, and an election observer, who is a senior IAS officer, at a polling booth here today.

Later, both have lodged complaints against each other. The scuffle between candidate Rajesh Munat and observer Subodh Yadav, the senior IAS officer, took place over deployment of security personnel at the Ayurvedic College polling booth in Raipur City West constituency, Raipur Superintendent of Police O P Pal told PTI.

The exchange of words grew so intense that both sides entered into a heated argument, he said.

Later both complained about threatening and using derogatory remarks against each other during the polling process, he said.

BJP candidate Rajesh Munat and Congress's young face Vikash Upadhyay are locked in a close contest for the Raipur West seat.
