Scrapping of POTA resulted in Jaipur terror attack: BJP

The UPA government's decision to scrap POTA resulted in the terror attack in Jaipur, BJP national Vice-president Kalraj Mishra said on Saturday.

RANCHI: The UPA government's decision to scrap POTA resulted in the terror attack in Jaipur, BJP national Vice-president Kalraj Mishra said on Saturday.

"The POTA was a perfect deterrent in maintaining internal security," he told the media.

Mishra, who was in Jharkhand to study the party's prospects in Giridih, Dhanbad, Hazaribag and Ranchi in the next general elections, also claimed that there was a 'simmering dislike' against the UPA among the people over the Sachar committee recommendations and delay in executing the death penalty of Afzal Guru.

Expressing concern over the growing inflation, he accused the Manmohan Singh government at the Centre of failing to curb price rise.

"BJP has been agitating against price rise as the poor are hard hit. There is an economic chaos in the country due to the faulty economic polices of the UPA government," he said.
