SCOPE for governance reforms, more accountability in PSUs
NEW DELHI: Public sector body SCOPE has pitched for the cause of better governance in PSUs through reforms such as making their Boards more accountable and converging various regulatory mechanisms to make them simpler.

"Accountability of both the owner (government) and the Boards of public sector enterprises is essentially required to improve overall governance," said Standing Conference of Public Enterprises (SCOPE) Director General U D Choubey at a seminar.

Choubey stressed upon the need for bringing further reforms in the governance of public sector enterprises and pressed on convergence of various regulatory mechanisms as these are highly complex and heterogeneous.

He also emphasised on the need for corporate social responsibility and inclusiveness.
