Scientists urged to develop indigenous equipment

Scientists, engineers and medical doctors from various research and medical institutions discussed the need for indigenous development of non invasive health care devises, a release said.

PUDUCHERRY: Dr G J Samathanam, scientist from the Department of the Science and Technology ( DST), New Delhi has called upon scientists, engineers and doctors to break barriers and integrate their activities by devising indigenus equipment which were economical, cost effective and culturally acceptable.

Participating in the Expert Advistory Group of the Technology Development Division of the DST at the meeting of the Cluster of Projects on non invasive health care held at Pondicherry Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) here yesterday, he said integration of the researches and activities of the scientists and doctors would be helpful to nurture nation building activities.

The meeting was organised by DST and the National Hub for Health Care Instrumentation Development (NHHID) of Anna University Chennai.
