Schwarzenegger may visit India in Nov
Hollywood star and California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger is expected to visit India in November.
S Mohan, the chairman of the IISc Alumni Association who has just returned from a five-week interaction in California, said the action hero was expected to make "some announcements" on such collaboration during the trip.
After the IISc Alumni Association had a meeting at Santa Clara on June 22, Mohan stayed back in the US, interacting with the universities and industries in California.
"The outcome was that the IISc (which begins its centenary celebrations in May next year) will be interacting with a number of US universities and industries for joint collaboration programmes," Mohan said.
"Scientists will move from both sides, faculty and student exchanges will take place for mutual benefits. Industries will fund the programmes of IISc and US universities so that both sides can do whatever they can."
Initially, 10 California-based universities would work with IISc on collaborative programmes in energy, environment, knowledge sciences, information and communication, automotive and aerospace technologies and bio-technology.
