NEW DELHI: Congress today slammed Prime Minister Narendra Modi over his "silence" on alleged scams and scandals involving the chief ministers of three BJP-ruled states.

The party took to Twitter and posted a picture of Shivraj Singh Chouhan of Madhya Pradesh, Raman Singh of Chhattisgarh and Vasundhara Raje of Rajasthan, along with Modi, with the caption: "Three corrupt Chief Ministers, one silent Prime Minister".

While the Congress is seeking resignation of Chouhan and Raje in connection with the Vyapam scam and Lalit Modi controversy, respectively, it sought the Chhattisgarh Chief Minister's removal in connection with the PDS scam.

"Scam after scam have surfaced from BJP-ruled states, but Prime Minister Modi is even refusing to come out from 'Maun Asan'," the Congress said on Twitter.

In another tweet, the party demanded that "Shivraj resign(s)". It said that as many as 47 deaths under mysterious circumstances have taken place since the Vyapam scam broke out in Madhya Pradesh.

It said that despite Chouhan being in charge of Medical Education when the scam in recruitment in government services and admissions in medical colleges broke out, he has been refusing to accept the demand for a CBI probe.

Congress General Secretary Digvijay Singh tweeted, "Vyapam shouldn't be seen as a case of only corruption but it is a part of the strategy of BJP/RSS to induct their cadres dubiously."

"It is being done in Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh and Gujarat also but it got exposed in MP because of the greed in Shivraj's family," Singh, a former MP Chief Minister, alleged.

As regards Vasundhara Raje, Congress has been targeting the Rajasthan Chief Minister alleging her "criminal nexus" with controversial former IPL boss Lalit Modi whose. It has been demanding the resignation of Raje as also External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj in the matter.

The resignation of Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Raman Singh is being demanded by the party for his alleged involvement in a Rs 36,000 crore PDS rice scam in the tribal dominated state.
