"We have come to that stage of blackmail where everytime an important case comes people start writing letters against us," justice Arun mishra said.
The Supreme Court will pronounce orders later on Thursday for an independent probe into the allegations of bench hunting and verdict fixing in the court, allegations that are part of the "larger conspiracy" to frame the Chief Justice of India (CJI).

"We want to send a message to the rich and the powerful than they cannot run the supreme court," a bench led by Justice Arun Mishra said. "We have come to that stage of blackmail where everytime an important case comes people start writing letters against us." "We have been systematically attacked in the last 3 to 4 years," he said.

The probe most probably will be into whether sacked former employees ganged up to frame the CJI. It will be independent of the probe into the veracity of sexual harassment allegations levelled by a sacked lady employee against the CJI Ranjan Gogoi.

That will be separately probed by the in-house panel.
