Coronavirus impact: Supreme Court to conduct hearings via video conferencing from today

Only one such court will sit on Monday comprising Chief Justice of India SA Bobde, and the chairman of the e-committee, Justice D.Y. Chandrachud, indicating perhaps that the court was testing the efficacy of such an arrangement before implementing it in all courts. The Supreme Court has taken a number of steps in recent days to ward off the spread of the corona threat. Among other things, it has drastically cut back on the number of judges sitting in court and the number of cases being taken up daily by the benches.
