SC rules for international arbitration in Antrix-Devas standoff
NEW DELHI: The Supreme Court on Friday ruled in favour of international arbitration in the Antrix-Devas standoff which arose after antrix cancelled S band wavelength allotted to Devas in 2005.


The deal was called off by Antrix, the commercial wing of ISR0, in 2010 amid allegations of illegalities in allotting this strategic band to the US company. The PM holds the space portfolio.

Devas sought international arbitration on this, while Antrix insisted on domestic arbitration. Today, a bench, headed by the CJI ruled in favour of international arbitration to sort out the issue.
