New Delhi: The SC on Friday rejected Congress leader Pawan Khera's plea to vacate its stay on transit anticipatory bail granted by the Telangana HC in connection with an FIR filed by Assam Police over his allegations that Assam CM's wife, Riniki Sharma, held multiple passports of different countries.

Declining relief, a bench of justices JK Maheshwari and Atul S Chandurkar also refused Khera's request to extend transit bail till next Tuesday to enable him to approach a court in Assam. The SC said that if the concerned court is not functioning, a request can be made for urgent listing, which would be considered as per prevailing practice.
