SC permits women bartenders in capital's hotels

The Supreme Court on Thursday upheld the employment of women as bartenders in the capital's hotels and restaurants.

NEW DELHI: The Supreme Court on Thursday upheld the employment of women as bartenders in the capital's hotels and restaurants.

A bench of Justices S B Sinha and H S Bedi also reduced the age limit of such bartenders from 25 to 21 years.

The apex court passed the orders while dismissing an appeal filed by a person challenging employement of girls in bars and restaurants for serving liquor.
