SC fiasco shocking, feeling distressed as a judge: retired SC judge Asok Ganguly

KOLKATA: The incident is “shocking” and “immediate steps” should be taken to resolve the matter, retired SC judge Asok Kumar Ganguly told ET. Referring to the press conference held by four senior judges of the apex court, justice Ganguly said that he felt “distressed” as a judge.

“It is shocking and it has not happened in the history of the Supreme Court.The problems which has arisen in the working of the SC should be solved by initiating dialogue and by evolving a consensus amongst the judges. It should not be allowed to linger. As a judge, I feel distressed,” said Justice Asok Ganguly.

According to justice Ganguly, the problem should be addressed internally within the Supreme Court’s frame work.
