SC extends Varun's parole

SC extended the parole of BJP leader Varun Gandhi till May 14. The BJP candidate from Pilibhit has been booked under the National Security Act for allegedly making hate speeches.

NEW DELHI: The Supreme Court on Friday extended the parole of BJP leader Varun Gandhi till May 14. The BJP candidate from Pilibhit has been booked under the National Security Act for allegedly making hate speeches.

The SC order would help Mr Gandhi to campaign for the party till the last phase of the Lok Sabha polls.

���The interim order will continue till May 14��� said a bench comprising Chief Justice K G Balakrishnan, Justice P Sathasivama and Justice J M Panchal.

Senior counsel Mukul Rohatgi appearing for the BJP leader informed the court that the election for the Pilibhit constituency was scheduled for April 13. ���Let the matter be heard after election���, said Rohatgi seeking extension of the interim bail for Varun till April 14.
