SC appoints administrators to run Lilavati Hospital
The Supreme Court on Monday appointed two senior doctors as the administrators of Mumbai's Lilavati Hospital -- a cause of dispute between the Mehta brothers over who controls it.

NEW DELHI: The Supreme Court on Monday appointed two senior doctors as the administrators of Mumbai's Lilavati Hospital -- a cause of dispute between the Mehta brothers over who controls it.
A bench headed by Chief Justice K G Balakrishnan appointed senior surgeons Narender Trivedi and K Ramamurthy as administrators of the hospital and directed them to give a report after every two weeks to the Board of Trustees.
Kishore Kirtilal Mehta, the trustee of Lilavati Kirtilal Mehta Medical Trust (LKMMT) that runs the Lilavati Hospital in Mumbai, along with his wife Charu had moved the Supreme Court alleging that his elder brother Vijay had forged documents to take control of the hospital.
According to the petitioners, Vijay claimed to be a permanent trustee of LKMMT by fabricating the trust documents (minute book, resolution and three letters) so as to "oust him (Kishore) and usurp and hijack the hospital with a motive to syphon-off the hospital funds."
