SC appeal may restore normalcy
It is felt a Supreme Court appeal and a possible stay order would restore normalcy after days of anxiety over the title suit verdict.

The hype in the run-up to the judgment, with the Central government and interested parties hammering home that it was not a final verdict and any aggrieved party could go in appeal, is seen to have helped in calming the nerves. The brief anti-climax when the apex court stayed the pronouncement of the verdict by a week on September 23 also played a part in defusing the anxiety.
That the post-judgment evening went without disturbance but continuing appeals for maintaining peace, from chief minister Mayawati and Sunni Waqf Board, showed that the situation was still being watched.
Congress is banking on an appeal in SC as it realises that BSP and BJP would use the opportunity to put it under pressure . The initial comments from BJP leaders and CM Mayawati confirmed the fears though there was a confidence that the issue cannot be brought to a boil again.
