SBI AGM killed in Mumbai terror attack

Assistant GM of SBI (Mumbai) P K Gopalakrishna was among those killed in the terrorist strikes in Mumbai, a family member said.

PORAYAR: Assistant General Manager of State Bank of India (Mumbai) P K Gopalakrishnan, a native of Mayiladuthurai in Nagapattinam district, was among those killed in the terrorist strikes in Mumbai, a family member said on Saturday.

Gopalakrishnan (58) had gone to the Taj Hotel on November 26 to attend an official meeting. Soon after the parley, he had gone to the restaurant to have dinner. It was then the terrorists attacked the hotel and started firing in which the officer got killed, Prabhu Mayooranathan, brother of Gopalakrishnan, told reporters here.

Prabhu, who is Mayiladuthurai Congress Committee President, said Gopalakrishnan was earlier working with the Indian Army. After retirement, he joined the SBI at indore in Madhya Pradesh. A few years ago, he was promoted as AGM and posted at Mumbai.

Gopalakrishnan is survived by wife, son and daughter. His son is doing his MBA in the US while his daughter is a ninth standard student.

"We are awaiting for his body to be brought here to perform the last rites," Prabhu said.
