Save Our Tigers: MPs find time for JK Tyre-Constitution Club of India Car Rally

Around 70 parliamentarians, along with their families, are expected to take part in the " JK Tyre-Constitution Club of India Car Rally for MPs" on Sunday, to endorse the cause of " Save Our Tigers" and calling for action for better tiger protection, a PTI report said.
The Constitution Club of India (CCI) and JK Tyre & Industries Limited have joined hands for the second consecutive year in their effort to spread social awareness, this year's being the cause of 'Save Our Tigers'" the report said.
The supporters of this cause are eminent parliamentarians and diplomats who will come together to participate in a Time, Speed, Distance (TSD) rally that will start from the CCI and culminate at Hotel Taj Palace, it added.
The vice-president of India, Hamid Ansari, will flag off the event and then it will travel through various parts of the city.
Finally, the winners will be felicitated by Jayanthi Natrajan, minister of state for environment & forest (Independent Charge), it said, adding that the guest of honour on the occasion will be Ghulam Nabi Azad, Union minister of health & family Welfare and Salman Khurshid, minister for law & justice and minority affairs.
Rajeev Shukla, minister of state for parliamentary affairs, and Agatha Sangma, minister of state for rural development will also be present, the report said.
"This is an opportunity of Indian parliament to express the solidarity and be agent to spread awareness across the country for the national animal—tiger," PTI quoted Rajiv Pratap Rudy, BJP leader and MP, as saying.
According to the PTI report, from around 40,000 at the turn of the last century, there are very few wild tigers left in India today. Illegal poaching of tigers is among the biggest challenges faced in the fight to "Save Our Tigers".
