BANGALORE: The Special Court trying the disproportionate assets case involving Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa and others today adjourned the matter to December 19, for further recording of the statement of her close aide and second accused Sasikala Natarajan.

Special Judge M S Balakrishna adjourned the matter to December 19, directing Sasikala to be present on that day.

Earlier, the court dismissed separate applications filed by Sasikala and third accused V Sudhakaran under section 451 of the Criminal Procedure Code and Rule 2 of Karnataka Criminal Rules of Practice for either return of unmarked documents or copies thereof.

Jayalalithaa has been charged with accumulating disproportionate welath known to her known sources of income when she was Chief Minister between 1991 and 1995 and the case was transferred to Bangalore by the Supreme Court on a petition by DMK General Secretary K Anbazhagan.
