NEW DELHI: Political environment took a dramatic turn in Tamil Nadu after former Chief Minister O Panneerselvam openly revolted against Sasikala on Tuesday.

Following a scathing attack by Panneerselvam, AIADMK General Secretary Sasikala immediately called an emergency meeting of all 134 party MLA at her Poes Garden residence in Chennai.

Earlier, former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Panneerselvam had alleged pressure from Sasikala family behind his resignation from the CM post on Sunday.

He alleged that efficient handling of cyclone Vardah and Jallikattu issues irritated Sasikala and her family and he was forced to quit.

He also said he is ready to take back resignation if people of Tamil Nadu and party cadres so desired.
