Sarpanch shot dead by suspected militants in Kashmir

SRINAGAR: Suspected militants killed a sarpanch affiliated to opposition People's Democratic Party in Pulwama district of Kashmir, police said today.

Mohammad Anin Pandith was shot dead by gunmen outside his residence at Awantipora in Pulwama late last night, they said.

No militant outfit has claimed responsibility for the killing so far.
